What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels. They help the site function, keep you signed in securely, remember preferences, and—only with consent—understand usage.
Categories we use
We group cookies as follows:
- Strictly necessary – security (CSRF), load balancing, session authenticity, cookie consent storage. These do not require consent under the ePrivacy/TTDSG framework when strictly necessary.
- Functional – optional preferences such as language or UI settings (consent where required).
- Analytics – aggregated usage measurement to improve the site (consent-based).
- Marketing – campaign measurement or retargeting if enabled (consent-based; currently may be inactive on this deployment).
Examples of necessary cookies
Depending on configuration, mathlabspace.de may set:
- nl_csrf – HTTP-only CSRF token cookie for form/API protection (session/short-lived)
- Session or authentication cookies when you sign in (when accounts are enabled)
- Cookie preference cookie storing your consent choice
Consent and preferences
Non-essential cookies are set only after you consent via the cookie banner or preferences center. You can withdraw or change consent at any time through Cookie Preferences without affecting strictly necessary cookies required for security.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking necessary cookies may break login, checkout, or form submission. Refer to your browser’s help documentation for instructions.
Duration
Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies expire according to their defined lifetime or when deleted. Consent records may be retained to demonstrate compliance.
